Guérande, a medieval town 40 km from Tharon-Plage, renowned for the quality of its monuments and its salt marshes, is one of the must-see places in Loire-Atlantique.

Nantes is the 6th largest commune in France, located 50 km from Tharon-Plage. It was the stronghold of many monarchs over the centuries and was especially coveted in the 15th century, when the King of France and the Dukes of Brittany rivalled to claim it.
